THE FLYING DUTCHMAN

DUTCH'S WEBSITE

It began with BILL HALEY, CHUCK BERRY, and ELVIS -- moved on to the BEATLES and the ROLLING STONES --refined itself with THREE DOG NIGHT and CREEDENCE CLEARWATER REVIVAL -- survived TINY TIM and DONNY OSMOND -- rebounded with BILLY JOEL and BOB SEGER -- and continues in a thousand splinters: well, it's rock and roll and THE FLYING DUTCHMAN loves it.

Add to DUTCH'S blend of great oldies: requests, contests, features, and i nteraction with listeners. It's fast-paced fun with the "best oldies".

PETE, who prefers to be called DUTCH, began his radio career in high school. He continued part-time announcing while attending BROWN UNIVERSITY in PROVIDENCE, RHODE ISLAND, His first fulltime on-the-air effort was at WABY in ALBANY, NEW YORK. That's where he picked up the "FLYING DUTCHMAN" moniker -- ALBANY was founded by the DUTCH.

By the late-SIXTIES, Pete headed south to WTOB in WINSTON-SALEM/GREENSBORO, NORTH CAROLINA, where he anchored a high-profile morning show. The SEVENTIES found the DUTCHMAN in BALTIMORE, MARYLAND, at WFBR.

In the EIGHTIES, he headed west to KGOR-FM in OMAHA; the NINETIES found him playing super oldies for the freeway-locked listeners of SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA; and late-1995 brought him to KOOL-95.1 & KOOL 98.5 (both in TEXAS) with a two-hour "ALL REQUEST SHOW" (5-7PM), MONDAY thru FRIDAY -- which he hosted for more than a dozen years.

He's married to a gal named BETTY (also known as REQUEST LADY), whom he met early in his career in ALBANY, NEW YORK. In 1976, he wrote the book "AND THE HITS JUST KEEP ON COMIN'", a pop-music history published by SYRACUSE UNIVERSITY PRESS.
